Hi, I just started playing minecraft this week. I am using the regular downloaded client with no extras.
Last thing last night Java asked to update and today when I went to play Minecraft again I get this error:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and then it closes. I tried playing in browser but the java didn't load there either.
It told me "class not found exception - net.minecraft.launcher"
Java Plug-in 10.17.2.02
Using JRE version 1.7.0_17-b02 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
User home directory = C:\Users\(me)
----------------------------------------------------
c: clear console window
f: finalize objects on finalization queue
g: garbage collect
h: display this help message
l: dump classloader list
m: print memory usage
o: trigger logging
q: hide console
r: reload policy configuration
s: dump system and deployment properties
t: dump thread list
v: dump thread stack
x: clear classloader cache
0-5: set trace level to <n>
----------------------------------------------------
I have tried downloading a fresh copy of Java (Version 7 Update 17)
I have tried uninstalling old versions manually AND using JavaRa to remove any lost bits.
Then I reinstalled the new Java version again, but I am still getting the same error.
I used the instructions to make a log but all I got was:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I run on 6 core 2.8 ghz AMD Windows Vista 32 bit, with 4 gig of ram
You don't have enough RAM to run Java applications. Please turn off programs as much as possible. 3-4GB of ram is fine to run Minecraft. Keep in mind 1-2gb goes to running your os (windows vista/7/8)
