I have a laptop and have playing Minecraft for over 2 years now, playing both on singleplayer and multiplayer during that time. And has been going well up to today. I logged on as usual, went to multiplayer to go on my favorite server, and I went on to where I spawned last. I walk around and I have a good connection for about 15-20 seconds, and after that is when nobody talks on the server anymore, I can't talk either, but I can move, and break blocks, but they don't drop anything. This goes on for about 10-15 seconds and that's when I disconnect from the server automatically with the message "Connection Lost. Timed out." So I clicked Back To Title Screen, and clicked on multiplayer to try and connect again. But when I click on the server, the Minecraft window went to a blank, usual dirt textured screen. It stays like that for a few seconds and then the screen goes black. It won't close from that point, so I have to open Task Manager and end the process from there. I tried this with multiple other servers and got the same response. This happens on singleplayer too. Only thing is that the message "Connection Lost. Timed out." doesn't come up. I just stay in the game until I choose to go to go back to the title. I'm beginning to worry I may have to get a new laptop. And I tried restarting my laptop. It didn't work. I also tried reinstalling it, and that didn't work. Plus, my Internet connection is pretty good: http://www.speedtest...2630672988.png. If there aren't any answers that help here, then I may have to restore my laptop to factory condition. Truth is, Minecraft is my favorite game, and (this may sound very strange) I can't really play any other games because Minecraft fits in a VERY big piece of the puzzle in my gaming life and not being able to play it just makes me really sad.
I would be EXTREMELY grateful if anyone could help me out.
EDIT: I didn't mention this before, but I allocate more memory to Minecraft by starting it up with a batch file. I tried it without the batch file, and Minecraft seems to work again. But it's odd though, because I've been using the allocation of memory to Minecraft trick for a little less than a year now. Odd. But at least I'll be able to play again.
But did you install some sort of anti-virus or did an update happen before you got trouble with the servers? Also what did you try already?
I installed it and ran a quick scan, and it didn't detect any threats. Although, it did say that my PC was at risk when I opened it up. I'll try Minecraft to see what happens. Once again, I'll get back to you.

Back again, and that didn't do anything. Same response. Can't play Minecraft. If anyone doesn't have another suggestion within the next few hours, I'm restoring my laptop to factory condition.

I'm a cowman that hunts down creepers. And your argument is invalid.
