For some strange reason, i have recently been experiencing framerate issues with Minecraft.
My computer is more than powerful enough to handle this game at over 100fps. But yet, it drops down to 40 constantly. This wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the constant stuttering that happens when it rises and drops.
My specs are. Intel i5-2400 CPU, at 3.1GHz.
8gb RAM.
AMD 7870 2GB.
Now, the strange thing is. My less powerful Nvidia 550 ti runs this game at over 300 fps constantly.
It has only been since the change to my more powerful current card that this has been happening.
All my drivers are updated to the recent version, there is enough memory allocated to Minecraft. I honestly have no idea what the problem is.
My computer can run BF3 on ultra with a better framerate than this.
I've done some searching around, and this indeed is the solution to many problems people have had.
Although i have no clue how to access it once i bring up the Catalyst Control Centre. Would you have any idea?
Minecraft is most likely running off of your i5's integrated graphics.
In AMD Vision Control Centre, there should be an option to disable switchable graphics - or tell your computer to only use your HD 7870.
Quote me for a reply.
Hmm. That doesn't appear for me.
I guess my computer simply doesn't support it, like yours.
Oh well.
I guess Minecraft simply isn't made for AMD cards.
