The person that raised that says it only happens when using the .jar launcher, so make sure you have tried the Mac OS X app launcher too.

i have the same problem but with 1.5.2......try using macbook pro version 10.5.8 i guess....but force update or it will crash every time u press "E"

it will also crash if u press on anything that opens your inventory EX: chest,brewing stand,double chest,ender chest etc....
