I'm running the latest version of minecraft, 1.5.1. Recently, within Five minutes of playing on my normal server, mc.hiddencloud.me, minecraft has unfailingly triggered the shutdown of my computer.
I use Avast anti-virus and Malwarebytes, and I dont have a virus or anything like that. I'm almost 100% certain my computer isn't overheating, and I haven't had any fan failures, and I'm just not sure what the problem could be.
Computer specs:
Large Roomy, well ventilated cse which keeps it very cool inside
A Z77 Extreme 6 motherboard
2 4 Gb sticks of Patriot Ram
A Raedon 6830 Video Card
a 650 Watt Power supply
Fans in front and back of the case
1 Terabyte Hard Drive
An I5(i believe, Might be an i7) CPU
Can anyone tell me whats going on? I've upgraded Java and Adobe and played around with the video settings too, but nothing seems to work.
Does it leave any reason, or message box saying windows was shutting down?
I don't see how this was particularly involving minecraft; but you should be able to cancel the shutdown by going to command prompt and typing "shutdown -a".
Also, please refer to running the game through a bat; which can be achieved by using this.
It's saying my java is a 32 bit, is that ok?
I ran the Advanced Error Program, but I am a bit confused:

Extreme- No, it doesn't give me any reason or anything, and It also doesn't give me time to abort a shut down, everything just goes black out of nowhere.
I upgraded java and ran the server and everything was fine for about 30 min. Then it shut off again and when my comp reboted it asked to reset settings to fix issues and i let it do its thing to repair itself.
I think I may have had a similar issue, for me it was an issue with my power supply fluctuating, but your issue could be completely different. (I had to get a new battery backup). However I don't recommend buying a new power supply until the cause of the crashes have been determined.

do you know what wattage the psu is?
it might be that when the gpu is working hard its drawing more power (i think the graphics card you have has its own power supply line plug) and the psu isn't able to keep up causing the shutdown?
Psu wattage is 650, I had a 700 watter but It had issues and I'm waiting on my dad to send it in and change it out(I've been waiting for, oh, 6 months now). Not Sure about gpu, and from what I can see the card doesnt have a power supple line plug. That might be the problem though.
I'm not sure If i have overclocking on, It wouldnt let me into the BIOS for some reason so I don't know if i can check, though I'm pretty sure I'm running both Ram sticks at 1.5
Is there any overclocking going on? Also, can you run Memtest86 and stress test your CPU? Maybe try another Game or software like 3DMark to test your GPU.
I'm not sure how to check a PSU like stated above, but this link looks promising. You can also purchase a tester to manually test it yourself.

Moderatortry like suggested below and stress out the cpu then gpu and see if you replicate the issue without minecraft
