I am posting on behalf of my son, who recently was allowed (by me) to buy the game. This morning he suddenly could not connect to any MC multiplayer games, and the connection hub merely states "Can't resolve hostname" or "Can't reach server" in all the worlds he's played in. Clearly it is a connection issue, but I am at loss how to address it.
It seems like a long shot, but the only thing that has changed locally on my computer in the last few hours (between his last playing session and this new connection issue) is the merger of my MO Messenger account and SKYPE. Can it in any way be related, or is there something else going on that I am unaware?
I'd appreciate any assistance. My son does not speak English well enough to post for himself, so I am mediating.

There's a known glitch that makes servers seem unreachable.
Double-click on it anyway and it should connect.
Thank you for the quick response. Double clicking does give a reaction, but eventually it returns the message "Connection timed out". Is there anything else I should try?
Mhh This Have Happen To Me Before. all u Need Todo is Restart u'r Moderm an it should resolve it if not Try To "Force Update ". The Reason Behind This Is Because The Moderm Itself Glitches out when a Power Outage Happen even if its a minimum it can still affect it an if This Does Not Help The Force Update Is u'r Best Choice an if This neither Helps ur Computer Might Be having Connection Issues.
Problem solved Restarting the modem did the trick. I tried downloading Advanced Minecraft error test by the way, but the download was stopped by a generic system error message merely saying "Unspecified problem."
