My friend was playing Minecraft and the computer crashed and it wont turn on! its running windows xp and ill give you somemore specs if you can help, so yeah please help
Specifications please..... It could be an overheated motherboard that melted because minecraft causes a lot of processing power. Just reply the specs. It could have something to do with it.
If the computer won't power on at all the power supply is probably your point of failure. It may also be the main board. When power supplies fail it is possible they can cause anything connected to them to fail/malfunction as well. Best to talk to the manufacturer if it is under warranty (typically less than a year old) or bring it to a local shop for diagnosis / repair.
If your operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Linux, whatever) won't start but the computer powers on and you get anything on the display it's probably your hard drive especially if the computer is older. If you aren't sure confirm this at a local computer shop and replace and reinstall all of your software.
Of course there are literally hundreds of other causes for the symptom you describe. Shortest answer is to take it to a local computer repair shop, not a big box retailer like Best Buy, Circuit City or whatever is comparable in your area.
1. Power Supply Died: Power Supply is the mouth of the computer in essence it eats the power you give it and feeds it to the rest of the computer. No Power Supply or dead one = No computer turn on
2. Processor's Thermal Paste stopped working: This is a bit more complicated of a issue and should be taken up by a pro.
3. Motherboard's Fried: The Motherboard could have taken a dump and so power and data cant flow through the PC
Solutions
1. Buy a new powersupply and install it: Easyest fix, A 5 year old could do it.
2. Re apply Thermal Paste to the processer and put it back on: Thats left to the Pro's or someone in your family familiar with computer repair.
3. Buy a new motherboard: Most expensive option but more long term fix. If you do this option you will probably have to rebuild the PC from the ground up. thats why its the most costly option
4. Buy a new PC: Easy, just buy a new pc... no complicatedness to it.
Thanks,
