The issue has been fixed. As it turns out, just as my PC was rebooting after the power outage, something related to my launcher connecting to the web had become corrupted. My AVG scan showed this:
"";"Service function NtAlpcConnectPort hook -> 0x88209858, <unknown>";"Infected"
I'd like this to become known for anybody who has a similar issue in the future. All that needs to be done is to remove that after your computer scan and all will be well.
Fixed issue. Details of the issue are in the spoiler.
I figured I would just edit the entire post and include every piece of information I have on the error, including the things I tried to see if fixes would occur.
Hello.
I had been playing on a server for a few hours, and after a while, my town got hit with a small power outage. It didn't last long (about 20 seconds), and soon I was able to restart my PC and get everything ready again. But when I tried to log back in using the Minecraft launcher, I kept getting the, "Can't connect to Minecraft.net" error when I tried to log in. So I went through and checked all my firewalls, and the launcher is added as an exception on all of them.
So then I went to minecraft.net and tried to log in there, and I was able to log in perfectly fine. I was also able to access the Mojang website with my account information as well, so this is really confusing me. My internet connection is just fine, as I'm able to see the update details on the launcher and log in to Skype, as well as browse the internet.
I have also attempted to log in on my laptop via the launcher, and everything works fine there.
Things I have tried:
-Re-added Minecraft as an exception to all firewalls (failed)
-Deleted the launcher I had and redownloaded a new one (failed)
-Tried to force update (failed)
-Running a virus scan to see if anything is occuring (it's still running)
-Restarted my PC (failed)
-Complete PC shutdown and reboot (failed)
Things I will try:
-Another full shutdown
-Reinstall Java
-Check for Java updates
If anybody has any ideas or fixes, please, let me know. Thank you.
EXTRA: Also, every website I visit keeps giving me the, "Untrusted" error since this power outage, even on websites I've always visited or know are safe (such as YouTube, Gmail and things like that). So if anybody also has fixes or any info on that, I'd appreciate it.
