I posted yesterday over in the MCPE bug thread that mined items were not being added to my inventory. There has been no response by anyone on this. Today I experienced it on my PC version as well. I mined 5 irons and they simply disappeared and were not added to my inventory. Is this a known issue? I just want to know if I am the only one with this issue and figured I'd get a quicker response here in the "computer" version forum.
Number of possibilities. First remember that items do not go straight from block form to your inventory.
For PE, are you in Creative? If not, are you on multiplayer? Are you experiencing lag?
For PC, again are you in Creative? Are you in multiplayer? Are you experiencing lag? And have you messed with the gamerules? ("/gamerule doTileDrops false" stops items from droppingfrom broken blocks, while "/gamerule doTileDrops true" allows them to drop. Ad of course, do you have any mods installed?

Hi, thanks for the reply. All my games are in survival mode single player. No mods and no game rules changed and no lag. All rules are default. I do understand that the items drop to the ground or are at least on their way to the ground when you pick them up automatically. But today on the PC version, I watched below me as an iron block I had just mined disappeared. I jumped down to "fetch" it but was too late. It was gone.
The only other thing I can think of is it hit something. Items take damage just like mobs (Though they don't drown :P), so if it hit cactus or fire or whatever it could have been destroyed. Short of that, I think it's a bug.

It continues. I started a random seed and mined a couple blocks of cobblestone. They disappeared and were not added to my inventory. There are several blocks of iron nearby and am afraid to mine them for fear of the same thing happening. I will try on my other computer and update here.
You don't happen to be on Adventure mode? I don't think that's possible though... You are mining them with the required tools, correct? For example, you need at least a wood pick to mine stone and coal, at least a stone pick to mine iron, etc.

This is probably one of many new bugs that come with a new update. Hopfully it gets patched soon for you. You may want to delete your bin or force update.

Thanks for the replies. I am mining with the correct tools. Pickaxe for cobblestone and iron, etc. The idea to delete the bin and force an update is a good one. Since I haven't read about this anywhere else I will do that and see what happens.

I am 99% sure it was this. It has been a while since I played on MCPE but since it started happening on the PC version too I got to thinking. Why would the same issue happen to only me on both the PC and PE versions? I think I was using a wooden pickaxe to mine iron ore. I had just started a new seed/game and didn't have stone yet when I found the iron.
I am sorry to lead you guys on what looks to be a wild goose chase. But it looks to me like it as my own idiocy that caused this.
I' having the same issue as the OP. Mined block will not show up in inventory. I'm using a stone pickaxe on cobble and marble and none are showing in my inventory. However if I have the block I want to mine in my inventory it works correctly. For instance, if I have cobble in my inventory and mine a stone or cobble block everything works per normal. I AM using the correct tool for the block (unless stone tools suddenly stop mining cobble and marble). I am running mods but everything was working until about 30 minutes ago.
Edit: I started a new world and was able to mine stone using wood and stone tools. I'm guessing my save game got corrupted but I have no clue how I'd fix the error. I don't see anything in the console regarding this issue. Additionally, I think it could be mod related as well. I am running 117 mods right now (the usual suspects are there).

color me confused and slightly irritated.
I am a newbtastic idiot. This issue started AFTER I created a couple backpacks. I'll let the community guess which two backpacks I created. In short, I will now strap my tail between my legs and go have a newbrific day.!!!
