Recently purchased minecraft however I'm getting an abundant of issues. I'm no newbie when it comes to networks and such however the problem I face is the lack of info on the net. Basically my network has been setup by my step-dad and works like this:
Internet -> BTHomeHub 3 -> Microsoft Windows 2003 server with Microsoft ISA -> various switches -> My Pc.
So my PC is behind a very secure firewall and a proxy server and is also double NAT'd. The thing is the launcher just never used the proxy settings so I was never able to login nor see updates. Using a proxy redirect I got the news updates to work but I cannot get the login to work as I believe I can't send it to the right place. What I need to confirm my theory is the actual urls or IP's the launcher uses when logging you into the Mojang servers. If anyone could post or find these out, it would be well appreciated.
Thanks.
p.s. I'm getting end of stream on some servers, would this be to do with the double NAT? Port 25565 is open and allowed to go through the firewall without proxy support.
You can set the proxy settings for Java (Minecraft) under Control Panel > Java > Network Settings.
I need to be authenticated through the proxy however. I saw I could pass the proxy settings to Java but I'm having little sucess of logging in letalone playing online:
