Yes, .minecraft in the appdata folder is completely deleted. After the backstory; I then double clicked Minecraft.exe, and the only thing that happened is one of those lovely error-notepads generated on my desktop.
Error is attached.
Backstory:
The mess started and ended yesterday; starting with some obnoxious crashes, and ending with not even being able to run a brand new minecraft.exe. Issues started randomly, meaning I had not changed anything directly beforehand. I hadn't updated anything since the start of 1.5. So in that case I figured ill just update Optifine from A1 to the current HD A5, and check to see if Ozo's texture pack have any updates, which it did, so I updated that as well. After checking my games performance now, I realized that it seemingly only worsened. Annoyance started kicking in, and I decided to do a fresh install. I destroyed .minecraft, downloaded Java Standard edition 7 Update 12 JRE 64 bit from http://jdk7.java.net/download.html ,downloaded Minecraft.exe from minecraft.net, and now here we are at this error I'm getting.
Yes, I realized this is the vanilla minecraft only section, and that's because that's all I'm asking about.

I notice the error thinks I have windows NT. That might be the biggest joke I've ever heard. I actually have Windows 8 pro 64 bit. CPU looks accurate, 16 gigs of ram, NVidia GeForce 660. I've been playing minecraft for months. on this computer.
Thank you for the fast reply. But of course, that's not happy news at all. Seeing as I take care of my system extensively, I cannot comprehend why this has happened. I checked out what the refresh windows 8 feature is, and basically I may as well just reformat my hard drive and reinstall windows.
In general I'd say that this is not a good sign. It's not really related to Minecraft per se, but only to the launcher doing some HTTP downloads (for example, to put up the news). Where it crashes is at the top, where it is trying to access a piece of memory for a basic data structure. So, it looks like corruption of some kind, either memory or possibly disk. I'd consider running your PC's system diagnostics for memory thoroughly.
Other interesting things, you said you download Java 7, but this is from Java 6. The Win NT info in the dump could happen if you are running minecraft.exe in compatibility mode (in which case the OS would be lying to minecraft.exe as part of being compatible)
I had just reformatted and reinstalled windows 7 a few months ago. I spent daysss on days reinstalling. Transferring data from a back up server over a slow network, downloading like 250 gigs from steam and origin and blizzard and other sites which house all the programs I use. and then reorganizing my program files and default directories, and desktop icon placement, and system settings, and DRIVERS. If anyone can offer me advice to fix this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

i did notice that it mentioned the wrong java. in add/remove programs, both java 7 and java 6 are listed, should i uninstall java 6?
Oooookkk....so I ran the memory test aaaaaand no results appear after log in like it said there would be.
also more side notes; steam has been trying and failing to update for like a week now, and for the past few weeks, the start screen of windows 8 will often become unresponsive. it will show that I'm clicking on a panel, but it wont open any apps or the desktop. I have to ctrl alt delete and alt tab and other random stuff to make it start working.
Looks like it is a memory corruption... Some file somewhere has been affected. A bad sector, on the other hand, would basically mean you're screwed. If your warranty's still valid, you might want to back up your disk and try a new computer or windows install. But only in the case that you can't find any way to fix it.

is it the hard drive or the ram? hard drive right? my system is custom built, I have to check individual warrenties. I bet I have one of the Seagate hard drives which got ruined in the flood.
To run thorough memory diagnostics should take more than 15 minutes... I think it takes upwards of an hour to do so on this 16G machine..
but in general it sounds like your computer is sick...
well yes my computer is defnintly Chalked, however it would be great to know the source. I clicked restart now to run a diagnostic, it restarted my pc, and a blue screen came up where it ran 2 passes. I too have 16 gigs of ram.
update: since it came free with windows 8, and because it actually blocked a Trojan in the past, I decided to run a full scan with windows defender. it found VirTool:DOS/Konboot. deleted and running a second scan now.

Retired StaffYou might want to use the refresh Windows 8 feature.
Also, Windows 8 is in the family line of Windows NT, so technically, it is correct.
