No matter which of the 2 hoppers at the top I place blocks into, the blocks will always end up traveling into the bottom chest. Is this intended behavior? Should the items always go to the block directly underneath a hopper even if it is connected to another block on the side?
Initially when hoppers were first introduced they would move items sideways like you're trying to do. Sethbling and others even made item sorters using this. However for some reason this behavior was changed. I'm not actually playing 1.5 yet so just passing on some info I learned from another topic related to item sorting.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
