My main question is the Unstitcher that was made for 1.5 suppose to do?
As I directly modified the default textures prior to the 1.5 update. It seems like several of the other files are copied and such, but the terrain.png remains as is. No new folders are created, and the file is not separated into what the new format should look like. O_o which is confusing.
I thought it was suppose to convert to the new format, but doesn't that mean to cut apart the terrain.png into their individual files and put into the respective folder? If that is what it is suppose to do, then it doesn't do it.
Would this mean I would have to manually remake my pack piece by piece?
Other question is should I be making those folders they are to be going into prior to the conversion, and zipping it up with those empty folders?
The program is simple enough to use thankfully, but unsure if it is doing what it should be doing. This is the reason i am asking what exactly it is suppose to do...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Right click on one as select "send to" -> "Compressed (zipped) folder".
Run the unstitcher on this folder.
Once the unstitcher is done, look for the "converted-(filename).zip" folder.
There you are. Place it in your texturepacks folder and you should see it in Minecraft.
no doesn't work... I've been doing it on the zipped file, and even tested to see if it functions in-game, and it just uses the default textures as if my changes don't exist... The only thing I know that would more likely work is the paintings as that looks to not change in the structure.
Basically when I use the program it skips the terrain.png file within the zip, as well the particles file. Was the only things it skips. Which means it did not even convert or rip the terrain up into individual files as it should, if that is what it is suppose to do... Might have a go tomorrow though to see if I just add the new folders in the pack before zipping. But as is, it doesn't do anything with the terrain.png file for some reason.
would the pack.txt file have anything to do with it? I mean I haven't changed the text in that file, so that has the default message. I doubt it though... I even tried doing it with the latest mcpatcher program, and that as well did the exact same thing. Just wondering if that is suppose to happen....

Do you already have a textures folder in your texture pack folder? If you do, the unstitcher will stop.

What's in the converted-(file_name).zip?
First off no. And the program didn't make one either in the zip... That is where I am confused, as to why it will not do it. Also I believe the res is 32x32 or 64x64, which ever makes 256x256 for the terrain.png. If that has any bearing...
Just the pictures for paintings in its' directory, the terrain.png, Particles, and I think some of the items,ie chests, as that was all I was changing... Of course the pack.txt and icon, as that is suppose to be there... hmm.... well I'mma try what I mentioned today see if it does actually work.. but I doubt it, since if what you say is true then for me I might have to do things manually...
Also note I have tried other ones too and nothing happened... Always had problems with the terrain.png and particles.png being skipped and not even messed with. So I do not know what is going on. hmm...
EDIT: Well I tried what I mentioned in the post yesterday, and still does the same thing, except this time deletes the folders.>< I thought maybe compression would have something to do with it, but no. even at normal compression it does the same thing.
I guess I forgot to mention I am on XP using 32-bit java... if that helps any. Like mentioned I have downloaded several times that Unstitcher, once from the twitter post, and a few times from someone referencing the file that works with 1.5 conversion. I had done a search for it on this sub section, and on google about it, however all I ever got was eventually they got it to work or something along those lines... But never really said how they got it to work.
The way I go about it is double-clicking the java package, so the basic way. I have though been doing it from another directory other than the desktop, as I wouldn't think it would matter since at least it scouts the correct minecraft directory no matter where I put the program. Also have tried from the desktop and does the same thing as well.
Looks to me I am going to have to manually remake all the stuff that hasn't been updated yet... Which I am not too fond of doing since it took me a bit to get all of it together the way I wanted them. Still wondering why it simply just doesn't work for me while it works for others. That is what is primarily confusing....
Got it to work finally... What I did wrong, I figured it out was in the zipping process...><
Sure I zipped the folder up, but that was the problem... I right clicked the folder to zip...
Now what I should have done was zip the contents of the folder and name the zip according to the folder name... that is how I got it to work.. hm... maybe that should be in the instructions.. or was it there already and I just didn't notice it...
Thanks for all the help, it was much appreciated.. Error definitely on my part.... Well now I can finally use my compiled textures again...:D

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
