So, I have a long time issue I am in need of fixing. The Official Minecraft Launcher has stopped opening and this has gone on for probably over a year now. The only way I was able to play was by using the Digiex launcher but now that is causing 1.5 servers to time me out so I am wanting to go back to the official launcher but I am in need of help. What happens when I try to open the launcher is everything starts going really slow on my computer for about a minute or two and then an empty box where Minecraft WOULD be appears for a split second and disappears. A Java icon (not minecraft) appears in the task bar and when I try and click it nothing comes up and then that is it. I have deleted all files and reinstalled the launcher, I have tried updating the java, but nothing is working. I haven't been able to find ANYTHING similar to this on the internet so I feel like I'm the only one this has happened to. I really hope someone here can assist me with this issue. Thanks to any replies!
Okay, so I came to the conclusion that it is definitely a Java issue. I went on the website to check what version I had and when I went to some testing thing, it had the same problem as if I was trying to open the MC launcher. A ton of computer lag. I'm gonna try and get rid of ALL traces of Java and get a clean up to date version and see if that works.
Delete the .exe and download a new one. I am right in assuming your on Windows?
If that doesn't work then update your drivers, and make suer you're using 64 bit java.
Can you get some pictures of what happens?
I tried what you had recommended and it didn't work. I also completely got rid of Java and Minecraft and nothing worked. This is so annoying. Also, this really isn't something I can take a screenshot of. It doesn't show anything :\
