I just purchased minecraft and downloaded the zip file for Mac. When I opened the zip file and tried to start Minecraft, I got an error message saying the file was broken, couldn't be opened and should be moved to the trash. Tried again multiple times, same result.
WTF? WIll this be fixed soon or should I ask for my money back?
Yes, it turns out the problem was that the security on my Mac needed to be set to run apps by unidentified developers... which is not the way it is out of the box, so it would be good if this were documented on the download page.
Maybe someone will find this post and it will help them...
