I got a new laptop a few months ago. I mainly got it so I could do media work on the go, when I'm away from my PC, but I'd also like to be able to play minecraft on it.
However, when I play I only get around 15FPS on the "Short" setting. On my PC I get 40 on far (which is a fine FPS for me) so playing with any fog at all really makes me sad
I feel there must be something wrong though, I thought my laptop should be able to handle minecraft pretty well...
Specs:
Intel i7 Ivy Bridge (2.4GHz Quad-core)
nVidia GeForce GTX 660M
4GB RAM
60GB SSD for OS, which Minecraft is also running from
I've got Java 1.7 instaled and up-to-date
The only thing I could think is that for some reason, it's using the Intel HD Graphics 4000 which is also built-in - Could that be the issue?
If the RAM isn't enough I can easily upgrade, the laptop supports up to 24gb - I just don't want to spend money unless I need to.
Trying that site. Following the guide, I can't change my preferred graphics processor anywhere, it's just set to integrated and grayed out. Speccy tells me my Nvidia card is working, so I can't work out what's going on...
Then I doubt that that's the issue. Can I have a DxDiag pretty please?
Sure:
