I am creating this topic in hopes to see if anyone here can fix this problem that I am receiving within my Minecraft client; more importantly, the sprites within. I have just updated to 1.5, as most (if not all) of you did, and this was not happening prior to the "upgrade". Presuming that you also have updated, I would like to know first if this is a 1.5 bug. If not, and this has happened to you before in an earlier build, I (and anyone else in the near future who may receive what is troubling me today) would also like to know if you've had it, and/or if you have fixed the issue. Both my brother and cousin updated and seem not to have had this happen to them, so I assume it may not be (though that is just two people) due to 1.5.
Now to get a little more in-depth with the problem at hand: I have these extremely glitchy sprites and it appears that whatever this is has occurred to just about every sprite in the game. They appear to be blotched, ultra-low-res'ed, and black-edged; they look a bit like little water-colored paintings with black squares in the corners of most. Every time I go into my inventory, or into a chest, I see them and it drives my OCD so crazy that I want to go outside and burn the ever-loving sh*t out of a happy little forest.
I have here an in-game screenshot of the problem at hand:
I am not using any mods or texture packs (though I have tried a texture pack to see if it would fix it, though oddly enough they stayed as what you see above)
If anyone can help me out with this, I would greatly appreciate it (and so would the aforementioned forestry and shrubberies). If you don't have any answers, then that is fine, I will just deal with it and buy a few matches on my way to the insane asylum.
Update Java (this usually fixes everything) and delete your .minecraft in %appdata%.
See if selected fullscreen might help.
That's a negative to all three suggestions
I just do not get why this is only happening to me. Updates normally don't agree with me, as I have not been able to run full-screen since the last update. It automatically crashes the client unless I do some really tricky things, yet then I have to restart my computer to get it off of full-screen.
Thank you for your input, it is highly appreciated.
I would suggest you got to the bug tracker and search for your issue there. If you can't find it you can create one so Mojang can look into fixing it.
I did that way before I came to the forums D:
This definitely has to be the update, as this wasn't happening before I upgraded to 1.5; everything was pretty smooth and pleasant at 1.4.7. I can't revert back either... I usually save my .jars, but I hastily plowed through so I could jump on with my friends and family (who have absolutely no hitches at all)
As for the drivers, they're all up to date! I don't know -- I can't think of anything else, as even texture packs still keep that kind of Bob Ross wannabe look. I did notice that it has a slight contingency to do what it's doing to everything but the place-able materials. Thanks for the tips though, guys! I usually don't ask around on forums for this kind of stuff as I'm pretty versatile with the program, but I can't fix this. It looks so ugly. The screenshot is just a chest, but everything apart from the contents of the container is like playing a high-res DOS game.
