I actually own a macbook of this exact design and it runs Minecraft perfectly well, and even Tekkit runs well on it. It does help to get Optifine, although it still runs quite well without.
For that price, I think tack on 100 USD more and you can get a laptop with a APU that would tenderizer that macbook such by a undeniable and measurable amount.
Core 2 duo is fairly old and an APU would easy out do such. Nvidia GPU, probably the 8000 or 9000 series of which is old.
Simple said don't get such laptop at all.
