Upgraded my game yesterday to minecraft 1.5 only to realize that this made it so i couldn't access the server I'm on (still at 1.4.7). I followed instructions online to download a minecraft.jar file and add to bin, but while the game does correctly load as 1.4.7, i keep getting kicked out of the game after 30 seconds or so and get a "Connection Lost End of Stream" message.
I know for a fact that it's not a server problem (friend on it can still play since she never upgraded) and I know it's not an internet problem (tried it at 2 different locations).
So far, I have tried
- a different jar file from a different website
- upgrade by java
- eliminated all texture packs
- downloading the entire bin as a whole for 1.4.7 and placing at appropriate location
- uninstalled and reinstalled minecraft completely before reattempting
Sorry for double posting but hoped to bump this thread back up so more people could see it -- still having the same problem. Since last post, have also tried:
- Downloading new bin altogether
- Again, uninstalling and reinstalling everything
- Took down firewall
I also tried accessing from a friend's computer and didn't have any problems, so whatever the issue is, it happened with the downgrade and it's on my computer.
SOS!

Any recommendations?
Re-start your server.
Might work.
Any other suggestions?
