okay, yesterday I opened minecraft and saw that the redstone update (1.5) was finally out. so I took my save file out and deleted .minecraft, and ran minecraft normally. a minute later I was minecrafting just fine. the next day I tried to open minecraft and the launcher would freeze up and I would have to close it via right clicking on the the window, clicking on "end program", seeing the "this program is not responding, end now?", and finaly clicking end now. I did this about three times, then I decided to restart my computer... and when my computer turned back on, the launcher wouldnt even open, like, nothing happens when you click on it.. so I updated java... nothing. so I tried playing in my browser... was looking great until I clicked on the "or play in your browser" link. so I tried deleting my .minecraft (without the saves file of course) and emptying my recycle bin and deleting every single file on my computer associated with minecraft and redownloaded the minecraft launcher from minecraft.net... the launcher didnt open.
Uninstall all versions of Java, restart your computer, reinstall Java, restart computer, make sure all Minecraft data (launcher, .minecraft folder, etc.) is removed, then try launching it again.
