Hey guys i would highly appreciate it if you guys could help me.
ok i just bought a gaming laptop with 17 3630, gtx 680, and 16 gb of ram, but when i go in to the game, i get 60 to 70 fps but i expect alot more and when i press f3 on the right it says using about 12 to 20% of 910mb of ram??? what??? i have 16gb? can that be a reason that i get lower fps? btw i cant do the allocation, i always wanted to allocate 8gb of 16 gb, can someone please help me,is that suppose to be 910? or there is sth wrong?
vanilla Minecraft does not actually need that much RAM despite what some people claim. Most especially it does not adapt and do anything differently based upon how much RAM you have.
MC 1.5 does spend a few minutes after opening a world (each time) where the FPS is lower while some kind of chunk updater is running.
Another possibility is that your gaming laptop may not be using your discrete GPU when running MC. You may need to explicitly tell your PC to do so.
