I really need help...
I had Minecraft downloaded to my laptop running on Lubuntu (Linux). It was fine until I downloaded the 1.5 update. After I downloaded it I closed Minecraft and went to run the mcpatcher I had. After the mcpatcher loaded none of the boxes were able to be checked for what I'd want patched and none of them were selected either. I asked a friend and he said to download the most recent version of mcpatcher after I delete the one I had. So I did because I trust him and he's smarter than me. After I did, it loaded and when I selected what I wanted patched and hit patch it said that the game was already modded, (I had no mods downloaded...only texture packs and patches using the mcpatcher) and that I should delete Minecraft and re-download and try patching again. I wasn't sure about it so I left it alone. Okay so now to the crappy part... A different friend went to play on my laptop because he had a creative map saved on it and he decided to make sure it was patched and he did what it said and deleted Minecraft (after copying my texturepacks and saves to the desktop) and when he went to re-download it by clicking the link on https://minecraft.net/download under the Linux section it won't download and the link doesn't work. I tried it myself and I can't get it to work at all. PLEASE HELP. I want my Minecraft back.
Thanks for the suggestion...
i got ahold of an IT Technician and he said to use the link I would use on my laptop/computer (https://minecraft.net/download) to download it and use that on my phone to download it and after its downloaded cut and paste it over to my laptop and then go to the properties and make it executable and after that run it and next try the mcpatcher again and I shouldn't have problems.
tho he doesn't play minecraft anymore and doesn'e know what the mcpatcher is.
buuuuuuuuuut......needless to say it worked
