I'm having an issue here. I just downloaded Minecraft 1.5 on a new computer with Windows 8 64-bit OS, and I haven't done any modding at all yet. I want the DokuCraft texture pack, so I need MCPatcher, otherwise it will be glitchy (they said so at least on the forum). I downloaded MCPatcher 3.0.1 since any version before that didn't work with MC 1.5, but when I run it I get the following message:

Your minecraft.jar appears to be already modded. It is highly recommended that you install mods via MCPatcher instead.
-Close MCPatcher.
-Delete both minecraft.jar and minecraft-1.5.jar.
-Re-download the game using the launcher.
-Run MCPatcher and select mods to add using the Add(+) button in the main window. This will prevent most conflicts between MCPatcher and other mods.

As I wrote before, I haven't done any modding at all. I also did all the steps that MCPatcher told me to do, even deleting the minecraft-1.5.jar while keeping the minecraft.jar file. I've also tried every single combination of deleting the bin folder, the mod folder, the texture pack folder, the launcher and the .minecraft folder all together, but no luck.

Anyone got a solution for this? Can the problem be that MCPatcher isn't up to date, or can it be because my computer is W8?

It could be Windows 8 I guess, that OS isn't compatible with anything. Have you tried doing it on another computer?
