I usually play Minecraft on my Dad's very nice laptop, Windows 7, 4GB of RAM, top of the line video cards. It always works great, however, I got grounded from the laptop, and have nothing to do over Spring Break!! So, I figured, why not use my old computer? I play Microsoft Flight Sim 2004 and IL-2 Sturmovik on it, both of which are very complex 3-D flying games. I figured Minecraft would run perfectly, but I keep getting issues on running it! I get these error messages after trying to start Minecraft:
Bad video card drivers! -----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode. This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

I have already tried to update my video card driver after going on the intel website and updating my drivers, with no success. I would really like to play minecraft in the comfort of my own room, and just play it at all!
I have a Windows XP Optiplex GX620 with Intel Pentium 4, 1GB of RAM.
You must do more than TRY to update your drivers. That is your only hope.
Your current drivers do not have Open GL support which means that MC will not work.

Looks like Optiplex's have Intel GMA 950s, try this guys solution: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/354888-fix-for-intel-gma-950-graphics-problems/
