Hey, So a like 3 days ago my minecraft was fine running at 200 FPS. But the next day my FPS dropped to like 50-30! I know, there are people that are going to say thats fine but I payed a lot for this computer. I tried installing optifine and i allocated 2 GBs of ram to minecraft and it only goes to like 60. I have a macbook pro retina 15 inch. (i know there will be mac haters lol)
But if anyone could help it would mean a lot thanks!
Go to the NVIDIA control panel, select Manage 3D Settings, set preferred graphics processor to "High-performance NVIDIA processor". Click apply then attempt to run the game again.
After doing that, update LWJGL. Some users performance increases after doing so.
Hey man thanks for the feedback but, im not sure if mac even has control panel. Ive been looking for a solution for a while... Thanks though it means a lot!
Alot of users, myself included, saw massive framerate drops with 1.5. It has to do with the lighting engine. It now has 3 settings. Set it to off and see if you get an FPS boost. Even off, mine never got back to the 200+ I was getting with 1.4.7
Make sure you grabbed the preview build of Optifine for 1.5 and not the one for 1.4.7. Good luck!
I know that when I go into full screen it boosts the FPS, but have you recently changed the settings of your computer or anything Minecraft or gaming related? What settings did you play on when you had 200 FPS?

Then follow this guide if you still have FPS problems.
