So I had been playing LAN with a friend and we got pretty far into establishing an awesome world. Then the next time we tried to play, he could see my LAN world, but whenever he tried to connect he couldn't with error cannot connect:connect. I know 1.4.7 has some weird issues with LAN, but what's funny about this one is that I can see his worlds and connect perfectly fine, but he can't connect to mine. This makes me think it isn't a problem with my router, but possibly my Compy. I've tried completely disabling windows firewall, and completely Disabling AVG, but I'm still getting the same error. I have tried completely disabling my router firewall as well just in case that was causing it. Still no joy.
Any Ideas. What are some other programs or features that can block Minecraft?
OS is Windows 8 if that has any bearing on the issue
Windows firewall changes its behavior depending upon whether you told it the connected network is "Home", "Work" or "Public"
I'm not exactly sure what the difference is between Home and Work, but Public networks will certainly block more traffic.
