This is my first time posting here, so if any more information is required I'd be happy to share it.
I am using a Gateway MD7818u (laptop w/ Intel Core2 Duo CPU T6400 @ 2.00GHz 4,096 MB RAM from dxdiag). I have run driver updating software from my computer and from Intel via the links provided over at Minecraft.net. However I always receive this error message:
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

I am running Windows 8 and the last time it worked was when I was running it on Vista (switched to xbox to play with my friends), however I have tried running in compatibility mode in all of the operating systems offered to no avail.
Thanks for the quick response, I edited my post to include all of the dxdiag. When I ran the software you provided a link to it said my computer did not meet the minimum requirements, I noticed you gave me a 32-bit version though and my computer runs 64-bit Win8 would that cause such an error message? Thanks.
Edited my first post for you, thanks for the quick response. The software you pointed me in the direction of told me that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements. Anything else I could try? Thanks

Retired Staff-----
Actually, googling your model lead me to your system specs. But please do provide it anyway.
Please follow the instructions listed here;
http://www.intel.com...b/CS-033916.htm
with this zip file
http://downloadcente...=22163&lang=eng
Ignore the fact that it says for Win7.

Retired StaffDid you follow the instructions on this page?
http://www.intel.com...b/CS-033916.htm
It should force the driver onto your system. That message should only appear if you use the .exe version of the driver.
EDIT: hold on, you're right. I swore I picked the 64 bit download though. hmm
In any case, use this zip.
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22166&lang=eng
No 32 worked just fine

Retired StaffDriver updates via Windows Updates are pretty much useless in any case
