Juist earlier this morning I had to do a system resotre on my computer, and so when I tried to play Minecraft in both with and without the curse client (if that makes a diffrence) and instead of the screen going to black for a secong and then the mojang logo, I'm only getting a black screen. I already re-downloaded minecraft thinking if I ran that it could create a fresh client, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Is there anyway to get a brand new client to allow the game to run again?
Windows is an operating system (in this context), the actual graphics card or intigrated graphics your computer has was made by someone else. Windows just installs generic drivers that it has on the disk, however those drivers do not support OpenGL which minecraft needs. This means you need to go to your computer manufacturers site to get their latest graphics driver for your model. If they don't seem to have one, then you can go directly to the maker of your graphics hardware to download their latest driver. To do that you would first need to know the make and model of your graphics hardware. You can get that info by running a DXdiag report. If you don't know how to read the report post a copy here and we can help you further.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
