Whenever I open Minecraft and try to run it, it brings me to the login window. But it says
Failed to update news

java.net.SocketException: Permission denied: connect

Right where the news is supposed to be. And it's really, really annoying. Because it also doesn't let me login to Minecraft either. I can still play offline, but I can't play on my server or anything please help!

Something is preventing the client from communicating, allow it through both the exceptions list of you antivirus program and the firewall.
