I have a computer running XP, and it has 3 Gigabytes of Random Access Memory, which I have heard was more than enough to run Minecraft, yet every time I open it, or try to, it brings up an error saying Java can't reserve enough RAM to start, and it auto-crashes.
You are probably trying to tell minecraft how much memory to use, and you are probably trying to use more than 32bit Java supports.
