I've tried recording using many recorders such as Fraps, Bandican, and HyperCam. I usually have like 30-100 fps while playing minecraft but when I use any of these, I have about 2-5 fps. I have a pretty good graphics card and i have 4 gb of ram on my laptop. Please help me. Thanks!
The reason it lowers you FPPS is because your core is busy doing the recording so you have a whole new block of applications to do.
Take for example this:
▓ ▒ Minecraft Video recording software.
So if you imagine the density of each one like the density of the amount of ram running on that application. What your computer tryes to do is even it up so its like this:
▒ > ▒ Minecraft Video recording software.
What you can do is lower your render distance or I just found a topic on how to lower RAM.
I was about to say the same thing. but yeah it takes even more ram to run the recording software and minecraft at the same time so you should expect an fps drop while recording.

So an fps drop from 100 to about 3? Also should I allocate less ram to minecraft?

No its not that its probably because you don't have enough ram in your computer. you could try giving java more ram but I don't think it will help much.you might need a better computer if you cant add anymore ram into it, I had a small netbook that I would play minecraft on. it would have around 5-10 fps and I was happy with that. then I got another gig of ram so it went from 1-2. the fps rose to like 10-15, but when I ran a recorder it went to like 0-3 fps.

How could you enjoy minecraft with 5-10 fps?? O_o I guess I can add more ram and see what happens. :/ My laptops graphics card can't be updated however....I have a Toshiba Satelite.

Well when its your only choice of how to play it you just learn to deal with it. normal im doing creative tho because its hard to fight with that fps

Retired StaffJust a little tip.
you can have all the i7's and ati's in the world, along w/ 1000Mb RAMS and optifines, but w/out a decent graphics card, you're hosed.
Bad news: laptop graphics cards are tied to the Mobo's and aren't easily upgraded.
Best bet: get a purpose built PC with a video card that has an onboard GPU,
