So... I have been playing Minecraft for years. Back in 2009 when I first started playing, I think I would get at least 100 FPS? By 2010, I was at 80 FPS, by 2011 I was around 70-80 still.
By 2012 I was ranging 40-70. Now... Im at 15 FPS daily...
I don't know much about computers so I can't really share any info unless someone tells me what do I have to show. Only thing I know is that my computer has:
Installed Memory (RAM): 6.00 GB
Anyways, Minecraft is laggy as you can see... I do have Optifine and everything is set on the best FPS thingy. My render distance is on Tiny. Most of everything is either on Fast/Off to make less lag but I am stil lat 15 FPS.
What can I do to make less lag? Besides closing all tabs...
Should I get a better graphics card? Or what? Some say get more RAM? Or what?
I don't know much... Can someone please help me? I cant stand the FPS lag... It used to be so good. What happened? >_<
As Minecraft gets bigger (more sloppy coding) the game starts to drag down a bit. A lot has changed since, new engines and protocols have caused the game to act differently. Try updating your graphics drivers to the latest versions, and maybe allocate more RAM for Minecraft.
As cards get older, they get slower. I think a newer graphics card should fix it.
Thats what I kinda thought. Minecraft has changed a lot over the past few years and think with all its new things and my computer... A better graphics card would be better.
I already have Optifine as stated in the original post... I get 15 FPS on the best settings with Optifine :I
Render Distance is on Tiny and every other setting is on Off/Fast to reduce Lag but it still lags.

I originally had 8 GB of ram in my computer but when I went to Geek Squad one day because my computer crashed (All thanks to my EX Minecraft Freind who sent me the virus in the first place) Now I have 6 GB of RAM and I use 1GB of RAM for Minecraft. How much RAM should I use? Also... Update my graphics drivers? What is that? :3 How do I update it? A youtube vid link would much be appreciated

Also try uninstalling any programs that you do not use anymore. This could be a big factor in how fast minecraft plays.
Not really, that has more to do with hard drive fragmentation than anything. Defrag your hard drive, that could help too.
