Okay guys, so i recently built a new computer that's pretty high end, yet I'm getting performance issues. I'll run at 60 fps but if i do anything like hit a pig or whatnot i'll drop down to 30fps. This surprises me because i can play skyrim on ultra at 60+fps and farcry on high at 50-60fps. I've downloaded 64-bit java too and still i'm getting the same issues. Do any of you have an idea why this is happening?
Try playing Minecraft with "Fast Graphics"instead of "Fancy Graphics" and go on "Normal" render distance. If this doesn't work, play on "Small" render distance and play on "Power Saver"

You could see if using Optifine helps by letting you utilize multiple cores from your CPU in chunkloading, etc. Also, I believe the default memory allocation to Minecraft is ~1GB; using a .bat, you can launch Minecraft with more memory and that may help.
