So today I was playing minecraft, and I tried to go change the sound. It was at the "off" setting for some reason, so I tried to turn it up. Once I did this, minecraft froze, and I had to close it.
I then proceeded to delete the minecraft bin, and do a force update after that didn't work. It didn't do anything for me. If any of you know a way to solve this, or can suggest me to a thread that has the same problem, I would be extremely happy. For now, I'll have to play minecraft in complete silence since the music and sound are now impermanently stuck in the off position. My only other thought is that there is an options config file in the .minecraft folder, so if any of you know the syntax to turn of the volume using that, I would love to give it a try.
For the record, nothing else is wrong with my game. No random crashes, no lag, just this one glitch. I really don't know what to do, so if any of you know what to do, please tell me.

Thank you, Extreme_Heat!
I just got a little bit smarter and restarted my computer, and everything worked fine, but thank you for responding so quickly!

Try deleting your options.txt file also, it might be corrupt.
