I was bought a minecraft code by a friend of mine and since registering for an account and activating the key I have not been able to log into minecraft and have not played a lick since he bought it for me. Everytime I go to the launcher and press login I get a loading screen that says done and then the dialog box goes black and then disappears. My laptop is a ASUS G73JH with an ATI Radeon 5870 series graphics card and plenty of hard drive to run minecraft. I think it has something to do with my Java and I thought I did everything such as downloading and updating drivers but alas nothing. Any help is much appreciated and I know there are plenty of threads like mine but I don't feel like digging around to find a fix that won't work as I have been doing that for the past few weeks and am ready to just give up on ever being able to play. I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
