I've checked the FAQs and the forum, without finding my specific issue.

I'm on a Lenovo T60 running Windows 7 Enterprise. For the past month, my minecraft game has begun to run slower and lock. On the latest Java update, I get the title screen, successfully log in and then get a black screen. I've waited to see if the application eventually opens, but it does not.

I haven't submitted this as a bug, because I do not know if anyone else is experiencing this problem or if I might have a termite problem. To that end, I've run my anti-virus software and malwarebytes but they come up empty.

I have included Minecraft in my exceptions list on my firewall.

Anyone have any ideas what might be happening?

Can you try force updating minecraft?

Also, try getting the latest client.

-Thanks for the feedback. Open GL not the issue. Previous versions ran open GL just fine.

-Also have reloaded both the latest java and the latest version of the Minecraft client. No mas.

If you see the login part of the client but experience a black screen after it tries to launch, at least 90% of the time this is due to a graphics driver issue.

Try running this advanced error tester and post a copy of the log here.

A DXdiag report as requested by Tedster would be helpful too.

The only item I find interesting is 32 bit java on a 64 bit machine. That one is easy.
The ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 driver is current.

Odd. Your OP stated that you were getting a black screen after login, however the error tester appears to have launched minecraft fine. Did you see a black screen or did it launch that time?

If it really is something about java 7, then why don't you just go back to Java 6?
