the only thing that could fix this is Mojang. They need to redo the terrain generator.

By any chance did you modify your Minecraft install? Mods tend to break certain stuff.

I would recommend you perform a force update.To do so, start Minecraft, press 'Options' (above the 'Login' button), Press 'Force update!', then press 'Done', and login to Minecraft. See http://i.imgur.com/5b09B.png for visual instructions.

If you have this problem, just give your Minecraft/Java more memory. I gave it 7 Gigs but it works with just 3

Yeah, I did it by just having vanilla minecraft and waiting. It eventually does work.
