I have tried doing almost everything from looking up tutorials and updating the video card but it
just won't make minecraft work.
I currently have windows 8 installed with AMD Radeon HD 7640G (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.20) video card.
This is what minecraft says when i open it up:
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Update your drivers. Right click on your desktop, click on Catylst control software (it might also say AMD VISION), look for an option about drivers, update as instructions say.
FUTURE REFERENCE: For NVIDIA users do the same thing, but just click on NVIDIA control panel.

Your error message says that you are using Windows 7 (x86) Version 6.1, but you say you are using Windows 8. Which is correct? Are you a tad confused/dual booting, or is Minecraft being odd as usual?
Please post your system specs as well, just for extra info; you never know when it might help! Be EXACT. Don't just say, "4 GB RAM," say, "4 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333 Mhz" The more detail, the better!
DISCLAIMER: No, I'm not a stalker, and I don't know how I would find you from your computer hardware People have actually made that accusation before, believe it or not!

Just checked myself, may not be in there. Instead go to AMD's website, http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx
I had tried that already and it has not worked out
