Ok, so I play minecraft a lot on a great computer. I can usually get over 45 fps, but for some reason, whenever I start recording I instantly drop to 18 frames. I would be fine if I knew that my computer wasn't capable of running minecraft and recording, but it is. When I start recording and the lag starts, my RAM usage and CPU usage stay around thirty percent, and I still lag. Allocating more RAM will not help and does not help because it doesn't use the RAM it already has. Please can you help me out.
Also, do not tell me to get optifine because I Play the snapshots. I also don't want to depend on a mod for good performance. Don't be telling me to buy a new computer or anything either.
Thanks!
45fps is nothing to brag about, it isn't even over the monitor refresh rate! I'm afraid you do not have a great PC, or even a very good one. A computer that can only pull 45fps normally in minecraft would be expected to drop that low while recording. I get an average of about 450FPS on my computer, but when I record I drop down to as low as 150-200fps. Of course I have an enthusiast level PC, so I'm above the norm, but you get the point. The RAM and CPU have nothing to do with recording videos, it is all about your graphics card, as is the case with most games. The only thing you could do to fix that would be to buy a new graphics card, other than that you don't have any options.
I have about ~600FPS.. When recording it brings it down to about like 450+.. Its normal. I used to play MC with 40fps. Check your recording settings. Full size would definitely lag it. And I think if vSync is enabled, it'll bring your fps down even more cause your fps' not over the monitor refresh rate. By 'a great computer', how great is great? ;P
1. New graphics card.
2. New computer 3. Play released versions with optifine.
I dare you to move your cursor to the green box on the bottom left of these words, and give it a click. I would give you a diamond, but I've lost it.

I truthfully do not know my current frame rate but I will check in a couole of hours. Is there anyway I can fix this without buying a new computer. Ps. I am also hosting a vanilla server from the same computer with 2 gigs allocated to it. I run windows 7 home premium
You could host the server with less ram, It doesn't lag it up for me. I run a CraftBukkit server on my Win 7 Hpremium comp with 5 players + me.. Of course, You can also try hosting the server on another computer. When I had my crappy computer, I hosted my server on a laptop with 768 MB allocated. Now I host it on my comp with 8GB allocated.. I see no difference in the (laggyness)

Yea, the HD 5450 sucks. The 6570 is much better than the 5450, but it sucks as well. You're only choice is to upgrade your video card. Do some research before you go and buy anything to make sure you are making the right decision. Also, RAM does not effect performance!!! You could have 64GB of RAM all dedicated to minecraft and it would be the exact same as 1 GB dedicated to minecraft! The only thing that it would effect is how high a resolution texture pack you can use (and even 1GB can usually handle over 512x512) and how much TNT you can set off at once. However it will not effect your frame rate, only prevent you from running out of memory.
