I have a large adventure map that I was building, and I have encountered a lot of lighting bugs. I thought I would put it off until the end of building, but now I'm nearing the end and I'm getting quite annoyed by them. The room should be pitch black, as there is a quite thick ceiling overhead, but there's bright sections as if it's daylight? I need to fix them! I tried placing blocks and torches inside of them, but it's not working.
Any suggestions?

"Map making isn't about painting a canvas, it's more like creating a giant block and carving a statue out of it."
Nothing you can really do about it that I'm aware of. Even using a tool to reset lighting values only fixes it briefly then they creep back as blocks update again. It's a flaw in the lighting engine somehow. There are many people hoping the updated lighting engine will fix this.
Any suggestions?

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
