Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone has ever used the ppc64 Linux port of OpenJDK 7 on this site http://openjdk.java....s/ppc-aix-port/ ? I have a PowerMac G5, and I am just wondering if anyone has gotten this to work in Ubuntu or something. I'm asking because there is no 64 bit java for ppc os x 10.5.8, and also the highest version of apple's java is 1.5 .
I actually play minecraft on it right Now (Mac OS X Server 10.5.8), and it is not laggy at all, i get between 30 and 70 FPS usually, spiking up to 100+ FPS. LOL. I'm just wondering because the openjdk port i linked to is supposedly faster, it is 64 bit, and it is an up to date version of java.
I am currently running a minecraft server using Ibm Java 7 64 bit on a pwermac g5 dual core 2.3ghz running Ubuntu 10.04. It is flawless, using only 12% of the CPUs. I'm not to sure how to compile it, as a friend did it for me, but I'll talk with him.
Anyone used ppc64 port of openjdk in ubuntu linux for minecraft?
