I have been trying to get minecraft working for about a week with no luck.
1. We payed for a license and logged in to minecraft.net.
2. Try to play online -> downloads files then white screen
3. Download client -> loads then black screen
4. Force update with client -> downloads fine then black screen
The Laptop is an Acer Ferrari 4005 with the following specs
Windows XP Pro (SP3)
AMD Turion64 Mobile 2GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon X700
2GB Ram
The latest versions of Java and Flash have been installed (then uninstalled and re-installed).
Searching around I find random tidbits about defining the amount of ram in java, edit minecraft.jar and delete META-INF, ect but have not found anything that makes a difference.
I would really appreciate some help as I don't know what to do to get this game running.
Thank you for the quick response.
I ran your script but encountered a few issues.
Had to skip the 'video' call (would hang so I commented it out as your script skills greatly exceed my own).
After the minecraft.exe window sat stagnant with a black screen for 30min I closed it.
The point it hung at was immediately after your script echoed 'OpenAL initialized.'
Please let me know if this helps as I really appreciate your assistance.
