Please help! I was attempting to start a clean slate for my minecraft. I deleted all the files (except my texturepacks and saves. I put them on my desktop) so now i have an EMPTY .minecraft folder when I go into %appdata%, Roaming. When I later tried to log into minecraft, it kept saying, Play Offline (Not Downloaded) / Try again. I have tried pressing force update, but it does nothing. Can someone please supply me with an UNMODDED .minecraft file. NO I DO NOT WANT A Minecraft.jar, JUST A CLEAN .minecraft foler.
You do realise it is against the Minecraft Terms of Use to supply the .minecraft folder?
In any case, what does the red texted error say when you try to login? "Login Failed", "Cannot connect to Minecraft.net"?
try to log in to minecraft.net and play the game atleast once from the site and see if that will download the needed files to run minecraft. then use the launcher . If i remember correctly its even stated on the site in order to use the stand alone launcher you should play on the site atleast once. if it helps any you also could try to get a brand new launcher off the site and try using that

There is no red texted error. It just says: "Cannot connect to Minecraft.net." the options are: "Try Again" and "Play offline" the play offline is not clickable and below it, it says: Not downloaded

Either your antivirus software or your firewall is preventing the client from reaching the servers, or your hosts file is corrupt.
Try disabling them and see if it lets it through, you can reenable it afterwards.

Try disabling them and see if it lets it through, you can reenable it afterwards.
