Okay... so... A while ago, I updated my minecraft game and I think the new features are wonderful. Now, however, every time I play it, something really weird happens:
I can play it just fine. It's a little laggy, but it's always been that way. I can place blocks and destroy them but when I come back after exiting to the menu screen, it's like nothing's happened to the world. The differences in the inventory are still there, but any blocks I place are missing and the blocks that I've destroyed are gone.
I played on the family PC a bit, but I don't really have access to it much. Minecraft works just fine on there. I've looked around but it seems to me like it's not really a common problem. Correct me if I'm wrong, please, that would be wonderful lol.
Anyway, I use a laptop, I updated java and there wasn't anything wrong with it running before the big update with cocoa beans growing on trees and the new gravel texture thing...
If anyone has any suggestions, or knows what the problem is, I thank you in advance
i tried to duplicate this couldnt looked online and found out there is/was a minecraft saving bug. my best guess as to what was happening is you didnt allow the game to save properly before exiting like alt f4 or just exiting too quickly. but good thing is from what i seen there is a way to fix it. from your post i imagine you havent played minecraft in a long time and decided to play again. well what you can do is go into your minecraft folder and locate the saves folder if you have and worlds you would like to keep just in case. then delete that whole folder. delete your original minecraft launcher and resinstall the game fresh start it so it will generate the needed files and folders exit the game put your saved worlds back then it should be fixed. if that doesnt work then im not sure what it could be

I've done that.. several times. I tried making new worlds and such and it nothing changes. I did that yesterday... I destroyed two blocks and they stayed destroyed but all the rest of them were still there and the ones i had placed were gone... Again. It's so frustrating! lol
