Whenever I attempt to input something in Japanese, the little input box appears in the upper left corner as usual. However, when I press enter and this is inputted into the chat bar, it turns into a box similar to this:


I know that there are workarounds/solutions to this, because I have seen others use Japanese (probably an issue with Chinese input too) properly. I can view Japanese text that is sent by others, and I can copy-paste it into the bar to type it, where it shows up properly. Does anyone know how to fix this?

EDIT: I have tried using direct Japanese input (Japanese layout keyboard input) and it does not work either.

I'm assuming you mean the language setting in minecraft, which I've tried.
