So I got windows 8 for my 64 bit laptop and then installed NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT driver. I've looked around and saw that this AMD catalyst program was helping some people so I tried using the 64 bit laptop version of that..and still no minecraft. Any help is welcome, and any other details of my specs needed I will supply. Thanks

Can you please do a Dxdiag, and post it back here?

AMD Catalyst Control Center is specifically for people with ATI cards.
Nvidia Control Panel is specifically for people with Nvidia cards.
