I've been having issues with MC randomly rebooting my rig while playing. I'm not sure what's causing it, but was indicated that it may be a Java issue.
I'm using Win 7 64bit, GTX 570, 8gigs ram, 120gig SSD with a 500Gig HD.
I tried switching vid drivers, ran MC as admin, tried compatability mode, but I'm at a loss at this pt.
I have tried the Java 32bit as well as the 64 bit program, but it's still happening.
I'm not having this issue with any other program including Lotro on high graphics settings.
Any input might be helpful.

You probably want to check your processor's temperature.
A friend of mine also had this problem with a laptop of his.
I second this. Spontaneous restarts in the middle of an application may be a piece of hardware overheating. In any case make it a habit of cleaning the inside of your computer on a regular basis to maintain proper airflow.
as suggested above it maybe temperature issues so get a monitoring program like speedfan and watch your core temps while playing, see it anything goes too high just before the shutdown.

also is the system just rebooting, or BSODing?
It is rebooting.
*But, I'm now running Magic Launcher with no issues..go figure..:)

I blow out my system every week so I don't know if that's an issue.
