Hi, I am not very good with computers, so I will post my computer specifications so you can help me easier. I have an HP Envy 17 17" gaming laptop Beats Audio 3D capability Dual Core Proccessors and Dual Core/Card video card drivers. Upon starting up minecraft and logging in, it gives me a message saying this exactly:

Right-click on it and tell it to be opened using Java.

After updating it says Status: Done Current Version: False Newest Version: Failed To Load. Then when I try starting up minecraft, it still gives me the videocard error. I even tried editing my firewall settings.

Do I have to move the files in the link you gave me to someplace?

go into your start menu . type dxdiag and press enter then on that screen that shows up it will show you openGL and your directx drivers and such check to see if your video card can even support openGL at all. if it doesnt then you just cant run minecraft. if it does then what it is , you may have conflicting graphics driver issues and need to go into your devices and turn off one so you can have the others run.can prolly google how. but as it is all you can do is try to download it again. oh btw have you tried running minecraft from your browser? does it work there? and then type THIS error into google and see what you get .. OpenGL: ~~ERROR~~ NullPointerException: null
