Hello. Okay, so I recently got my new Gaming PC and I wanted Minecraft. My bestfriend had an account and he gave it to me because his Hard Drive crashed. SO I downloaded Minecraft and then lost internet for a couple weeks and I could play offline fine. I wanted to delete a texture pack to I deleted the .minecraft folder. I redownloaded the client when I got internet back and I went to log in and it said invalit username/passoword. and under the 'Try again' option, it said 'Play Offline (Not Downloaded)' I am very confused as to what to do and how to fix it. I want to buy minecraft but im scared that if I buy it the same thing will happen. Also, there is nothing in my .minecraft folder when I open it up. Also, his account IS a premium account. and I can login to minecraft.net with no problems.
You can't log in because you don't own the game yet.
The .minecraft folder gets filled up when you login, call it a form of DRM if you want, but you can only login and download the files when you have bought the game
My friend bought the game. It's his account. It lets me download the client fine. And like I said it was fine, before. I could download it before and play it.
You'll need to speak with your friend to see if he changed the password, or migrated the account to mojang which means you need to login with email and password instead of username and password.
Okay, i got the files back, but when I try to log in with the client, it says log in failed. and It gives me an option to play offline. Can anyone help fix that?
