I'm playing on a world that I've had pretty much since before Beta. Since right before full release, I've been noticing that around five seemingly random chunks near my starting area are being replaced by other chunks in that same area.
I've tried going into MCEdit and putting the original chunks back from a backup, but they're usually immediately reverted to the way they were as soon as I load the world. Also, if I make any changes to blocks in those chunks, leave and then return, they revert to their original state.
Three of those five chunks are part of some structures I have built, so it may not be entirely random. Does anyone know what could be causing this, or how I could fix it?
Nothing like that. They're pretty basic. The only "artificial" things they contain are cobblestone, netherrack, wood planks, and the occassional chest or workbench.
